Frequently asked Questions
"How do I get an A in this class?"
Easy. The labs and assignments are a snap (if you attend class). Do the work, submit it on time, show up, don't be late, and you'll have yourself an A - and, you won't have to take the final exam.
"I missed the first class(es). What do I need to do?
The best thing you can do is to get with another student and review what we did in the first classes. You can find what you need to do on this page. Fill out the forms; and sign up for the links you see there.
"What's your policy on lateness and absences?"
It's simple. You get 5 absences. None are excused. You don't need a doctor's letter etc. Five absences leads to a WU grade. As far as lateness goes, if you're late 3 times, that equals 1 absence. We meet 30 times. If you're late for half that time (15), you will receive a WU. Here's CUNY's policy on lateness and absences.
And, if you're going to be absent, or going to be late, text me (through remind.com), or email me.
"Hey, I just got a 22 for a Lab. What's up with that?"
A grade of 22 simply means you missed the mark in some way. Text or email me what you need to do. Also, check your Remind.com account. I may have sent you a video describing what you need to do. Since you uploaded your assignment on time, you'll need to re-upload your edited work.
"I got a zero on an assignment. Is there anything I can do?"
Zero means you didn't submit on time. Due dates for labs are listed on the Master Grade Sheet. The lab is due by midnight on the day listed (let me know if there are extenuating circumstances). While I'm lenient in the beginning as we get used to things, going forward, it will go like this: Saturday - minus 25; Sunday minus 25; Monday minus 25. After that, the zero remains. It takes quite a bit of time to grade your work conscientiously. Help me out by submitting your work on time.
"When are assignments due?"
On the Master Grade Sheet, a due date is associated with each lab/assignment. A particular assignment is due by Midnight of the date listed.
