Brianna Diaz

Hello, my name is Brianna Diaz and I am a Brooklyn born Queens raised resident. I am the only child in my family and live in a townhouse with my mom, dad and grandma. I’m currently a senior in highschool and attend an all girls school in downtown Manhattan. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved the beauty industry and plan to major in Marketing or Business Administration this fall at St John’s University. My dream career is to work in the cosmetic marketing industry, as everything from makeup, to hair and nails is my passion. I’ve had several temporary jobs, from volunteering in a daycare to working in a Community College and even in retail in one of Manhattan’s most touristy hotspots, 5th Ave. From the age of 3-16, I took lyrical ballet and tap classes at my local studio and enjoyed every second of it! While I no longer dance anymore, I participate in a non- profit organization with my aunt called Bloom Again Brooklyn. It gives new life to flowers while breaking the isolation of those most vulnerable in the community. Some of my favorite hobbies include ice skating, painting, and online shopping. I will pretty much order anything I want or need, it’s a guilty pleasure at this point! I enjoy online shopping for clothing based on what season of the year it is, what’s currently trending in the media, or just simply what pieces would make me stand out the most. Music is a very big part of my daily life. I listen to music pretty much day and night, and my headphones are my most prized possession. My music taste is pretty much wide spread, I have a diverse set of genres in my playlists, from R&B/Soul to Latin music. Believe it or not, as a Gen Z I adore listening to 70’s and 80’s music, as throughout my childhood I was heavily influenced by my dad always having a collection of old Rock CD’s and playing it around the house on weekends. Tina Turner, Madonna, Lionel Richie, The Police, Michael Jackson were constantly on repeat which made me memorize lyrics to songs some people in my generation may not have heard of. My current favorite artist is Mariah the Scientist, as she has a breathtaking voice with amazing, catchy songs. I had the pleasure of meeting her before her concert had started, and she is the most humble, sweetest soul ever! In the future I hope to attend more of her concerts and look forward to any new projects she may present. My favorite quote is actually said by her, “If you can see the vision, you can achieve the vision.”
